Mary Rachael Werle, 27 rose to Glory and now rests in peace after her accidental death on Thursday November 22nd. Words cannot describe the depth of sadness felt by her family and friends who will yearn for her infectious smile, her loving friendship and fierce loyalty, energizing wit, intelligence, charm and beauty.
A native of Houston, Mary Rachael was a Science and Technology student at the University of Houston and an avid swimmer. A worldly young woman, she enjoyed many trips abroad including Italy, France, England, China, Thailand, Mexico and the Bahamas. She also lived in Chicago and Calgary.
She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Anne (Annie) Smith of Sealy, Tx, her sister Sara Elizabeth Werle of Houston and the extended families of her maternal uncle Sumpter Smith III and his wife Ann of Rock Hill SC, their children Evan of Asheville NC and Sumpter Smith IV and his wife Madison of Greensboro NC and also the extended family of her maternal aunt McIver Grim and her husband Andy of Tampa Fl and Aiken SC and their children Barrett Browning and his wife Ella of Philadelphia Pa, Harrison Browning of Tampa Fl, Whitney Grim of Tampa Fl, and Emily Grim of Atlanta Ga. She is also survived by the extended family of her paternal uncle Keith Werle, his wife Melissa and their son Brock of Los Angeles Ca and her paternal aunt Jeanne Mare Werle of Washinton state.
She is predeceased by her father Kevin Jude Werle whom she knew too little but inherited his sense of humor and loyalty, his love of geology and all things cerebral.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday December 15th at 11 o'clock St John's Episcopal Church of Sealy Texas - 6th Street at Highway 36 with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
