Michael Joseph Germain went to be with God at the age of 67 years. He will be greatly missed.
Michael was born in Buffalo, New York, on May 4, 1955, to Eugene Michael and Genevieve Germain. He graduated from Lancaster High School, where he played basketball and fell in love with his wife, Jean Helen Yost. He continued on to play basketball for Buffalo State University. Michael married Jean in 1979, and they resided in Houston, TX. In 1992, they welcomed their beloved son, Taylor, into the world. Michael and Jean supported and encouraged Taylor throughout his time as an Eagle Scout of Boy Scouts of America, a baseball player, and a student. Michael and Taylor enjoyed playing golf, throwing the baseball around together and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. He worked as a bar manager at Uncle Sam's, Tinhall and Fogo De Chao. During his last year of life, he enjoyed holding, talking with, singing to, and gazing at his granddaughter, Anna Jean. They wore Buffalo Bills apparel together and made each other smile. He's loved for many reasons, including his great dance moves, sense of humor, humbleness, ability to make people laugh, basketball skills and being a proud dad and loving grandpa.
Michael is survived by his son, Michael Taylor Germain, his sister, Lugene Siembeda, his brother, Christopher Germain, his son's wife, Amanda Germain, his granddaughter, Anna Jean Germain, and other family and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Helen Germain, his father, Eugene Michael Germain, his mother, Genevieve Germain, his sister, Linda Dorko, his sister, Joanne Horn, his sister, Ann Locicero and other family and friends.
A private visitation will be held on May 2, 2023, at Integrity Funeral Care. A celebration of his life will occur in Buffalo, NY, later this year.
