Michael Louis Korenek is survived by his mother, Betty Marie Korenek, his father, Louis Joseph Korenek, his brother, Craig Joseph Korenek and his wife Alisa Korenek, his sister Penny Marie Harvey and her husband Dr. Alain Harvey, nieces Callie Marie Korenek, Katie Lynn Korenek, nephews Conor Ryan Harvey and Gareth Kirk Harvey, and his daughter Sofia Huynh. Michael attended St. Francis de Sales School and Catholic Church. Being very sociable, he made friends easily. Always the life of the party, through his innate charm and charisma he never failed to make people laugh. Working offshore for several years on an oil and gas rig he suffered an accident which led to his retirement. As a consequence, he was able to pursue his love of welding which, combined with an artistic spirit led to the creation of many unique art pieces. Caring deeply for his friends and family, Michael especially loved children and dogs. Michael was in many ways larger than life. True to his beliefs, he lived life boldly on his own terms. May he rest in peace. Michael lovingly donated his organs to Life Gift, so that his life may continue to serve others. Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest". Matthew 11:28
