Michael Emerson Rodgers, "Chula", passed away in Houston, Texas on September 24, 2019 at the age of 67 due to heart complications. Chula was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 13, 1952 and resided in Florida, Louisiana and all over in Texas. His father and mother, George and Virginia Rodgers, as well as his sister, Charleen Bonnett, preceded him in death.
Mike is survived by his son and daughter, Dwayne Rodgers and Nikki; grandchildren, Dylan and Tatelyn; sister and brother, Donna Shirlock and George Rodgers, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mike was very active in the Texas softball community and the Texas music scene for the past 40 years. Chula was a kind man with a great heart who touched many lives. He will be remembered as a great man who brought family and friends of the community together, a man who touched our hearts and gave us comfort. Please join our family and friends in honoring and celebrating the life of Chula. This celebration of life will be held:
