Michael Locke Stoufflet, Jr. U.S. Navy Retired 1955-2017 Michael Locke Stoufflet, Jr., 61, beloved husband of Chellie Hailes Stoufflet, passed away quietly at his home in Richmond, TX on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Michael was born in New Orleans, LA on July 10, 1955 to Michael Stoufflet, Sr. and Sadie Love Stoufflet. Michael graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in New Orleans, LA, earned an undergraduate degree at Seminole Community College and a masters degree from Columbia College. Michael served his country for 20 years prior to his retirement in the U.S. Navy. During his time in the U.S. Navy, his awards and commendations included the Battle "E" Efficiency Award (3), Navy Expeditionary Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment (4), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (2), Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation (3), National Defense Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and Expert M16 Rifle. Following his military service, he worked for Stromberg LLC, Logista Solutions and Jacobs Engineering. Michael is survived by his wife Chellie Hailes Stoufflet of Richmond, TX.; his mother Sadie Love Stoufflet of Harvey, LA.; his daughters Stacie Stoufflet Schaller of Marrero, LA., Keri Stoufflet Schmitt of Belle Chasse, LA., and Melissa Hailes of Richmond, TX.; his grandchildren Zachary Schaller, Krista Schaller, Sadie Amedee and Tristin Amedee; his brothers Steven, James, and Scott Stoufflet; and his sisters Robyn Stoufflet and Michelle McGrath. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Stoufflet, Sr. Michael was a cherished son-in-law to Robert R. Hailes and Hilda K. Hailes, brother-in-law of Ileen Marse Stoufflet, Robert McGrath and Michael and Joni Hailes. He was beloved by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at French Corner Baptist Church, 39715 Teel Road, Pontchatoula, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations can made in Michael's's honor to The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society www.nmcrs.org or Samaritan's Purse www.samaritanspurse.org.
