Michael Wahnon "Mike" Wahnon passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the age of 66 in his hometown of Houston, TX. His battle with major health issues over the years showed his courage in facing life with a smile. Despite his pain Mike was strong and fought until the very end.
Mike was born on November 5, 1954. As a teenager he loved to sneak off and go swimming in the sand pits in Spring Branch. He was always ready to have a good time. In 1973, he met the love of his life Patricia, the girl across the street. They soon began a loving marriage which spanned 46 happy years. It was then that Mike found the real meaning of life, becoming a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Together Mike and Patricia raised two beautiful daughters Kim and Nikki. Mike loved his girls and would do anything for them. He had two granddaughters Emily and Hannah. They were the apple of his eye. He eventually got his three grandsons Jayden, Messiah, and Roman and one great grandson Damien. He was so proud of his boys. They could do no wrong in his eyes and they always deserved candy any time they were with him. He also had one son-in-law Jose. He was the son he never had.
A self made man Mike went from customizing vehicles to an A/C man to head maintenance at Memorial City Hospital for 18 years. There wasn't anything Mike couldn't do. He got hurt and had to have 2 major back surgeries and life changed for him, but it didn't change his personality. He was the life of the party and always laughing, but he would let you know when it was time to go. He was a straight shooter, but had a heart of gold. He treated everyone like family and never met a stranger. He loved his family and always put them first.
His passing is preceded by his father Jimmy, his mother Liz, as well as his brother Tommy. The second of four children he is survived by his sisters Sharon and Missy.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, his two daughters Kim and Nikki, son-in-law Jose, two granddaughters Emily and Hannah, three grandsons Jayden, Messiah, and Roman, one great grandson Damien and many other family and friends. Mike's memory lives on in the hearts of all of them.
