Nancy Belanger

January 29, 1932 — June 14, 2019

Nancy Ann (Golick) Belanger, age 87 was born January 29, 1932 in Sheboygan WI. Nancy spent most of her childhood and school years growing up in Oregon. She attended Sacred Heart Academy High School and Eastern Oregon Teachers College. Nancy married (James A Belanger) and together they raised their 5 children in Northville, Michigan. For the past 28 years, she spent the winters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, walking on the beach, boogie boarding in the ocean, and soaking up the sun.

Nancy taught third grade for 6 years, both in Roseburg Oregon and Lathrup Village, Michigan, and then chose to stay home to raise her children. She found the greatest joy and satisfaction from the time and energy she devoted to her family over the years. She was very young at heart and vibrant up until the end of her life, often crediting her choice to hang around people who were 30 or more years younger, because she found them "fun and interesting".

She loved gardening and devoted a great deal of time to her vegetable garden, and the creative expression that came with perennial and annual flowers and plants, that graced her yard and invited you into her space.

Nancy was a great Observer and Seeker of knowledge. She loved reading informative educational books and remained open to controversial possibilities and information. Her collection included books on Healing and Herbal Remedies, Energy Healers, Spirituality and Law of Attraction, as well as Crop Circles, Ancient Aliens, other Universes, and Past Lives. There are books from her many travels, especially to places with a history of Ancient Civilizations, including: Greece, Italy, Jerusalem, Egypt, and Mexico. She loved exploring their ruins, temples, and pyramids, and learning about their beliefs, rituals, and customs. Unfortunately, due to her illness, she was unable to take a planned trip to the Inca Ruins of Machu Pichu in Peru.

Nancy passed away peacefully in Hospice Care on June 14, 2019, in Houston, Texas.

Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James A Belanger (11 years ago), parents Valentine Golick and Amalia (Biturajac), brother Richard Golick, and sister Viola Belanger (Lionel G). Nancy is survived by her Five Children: Giselle "Gigi", Lee (Pamela), Jimmy (Lori), Richard (Kathleen) and Julie, and her Nine loving Grandchildren: Nicole, Austin, Alex, Tessa, Allie, Landon, Cooper, Jake and Kendall, and her brother Conrad Golick, and nieces Gabrielle Rohde (Keith) and Michelle Wentworth (Robert), as well as many other nieces and nephews and their families.
