Patricia “Patty” Latham

Born July 6, 1952, Patricia “Patty” Ann Latham went to her eternal rest on May 14, 2021, following a courageous and hard-fought battle against chronic illness. Her genuine and caring spirit brought light and laughter to the lives of all who knew her.

A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Patty was fiercely proud of her loved ones. She was always the greatest cheerleader for their accomplishments, big and small. Her life was often filled with pain, but she never failed to be there for those she loved, always remembering every birthday, anniversary and special occasion.

An avid sports fan and lifelong Houstonian, nothing delighted Patty more than kicking back and watching her beloved Astros. She had an uncanny memory and could recall stats of her favorite players as effortlessly as she could share detailed stories from throughout her life. She played the guitar in her youth and enjoyed rock and roll music always, including the Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel.

Patty had an unparalleled faith in the Lord and was so grateful to have joined the welcoming congregation of Pine Valley Bible Church. She was truly an exemplar of God’s Love, showing tolerance and compassion to everyone she met.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents Doris and Melvin Latham, and her brother Tom Latham. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Abby Latham; her sister-in-law, Nada Latham; her nieces and nephews-in-law, Lori Latham, Carrie and Tyler Redwood, Jill and Mike Gardenhi, and Ashley and Alan Dennis; and her grandniece and nephews, Logan and Addison Redwood, Kai and Kameron Smith, and Bertram Dennis. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Louann Matthews, along with a host of other beloved and special family members and friends.

A Celebration of Patty’s life will be held on Saturday, May 22 at 1 PM at Pine Valley Bible Church, 4101 Grimes Street, Houston, Texas 77087.
