Paul Montes

Paul James Montes died on 03/18/2022 from complications of pancreatic cancer. Despite his valiant fight, he succumbed to this terrible disease.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose A. Montes, M.D. and Pilar B. Montes. Paul was born in Havana, Cuba in 1958 but was brought to the United States in 1962 because his parents wanted him to be raised in a free society devoid of tyranny and repression.

He is survived by his wife Rosa Montes, age 61, Madalyn Montes, age 35, and his twins Miranda and Gabrielle Montes, age 28. He is also survived by Joseph A. Montes, M.D., age 62, and his sister Mary Jane Fenouil, age 54.

Paul had a razor-sharp wit , great sense of humor, and loved all animals; especially his dogs. He had a joie de vivre and was happiest when surrounded by family. He had many long term friends whom he loved very much. He was a great husband and father.

We want to thank Philip Salem , M.D. and all the staff at Salem Oncology Center. He considered them as family and was honored to work there. We would also like to thank Robert Wolff, M.D. whose kindness and compassion we will never forget. Thanks to all the team at M.D. Anderson.

He received the sacrament of last rites on 03/17/2022. His funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, 03/24/2022 at 10:00 A.M. Please join us in celebrating Paul's life and accomplishments.
