Raymond John Bindiola Sr. (Moon), 61, of Houston, TX passed away on Friday May 19, 2017 following a brief illness. Raymond was born on April 15, 1956 in El Centro, CA. Raymond grew up in the north side of El Centro. It was there that he was given the nickname "Moon" for which everyone from then on knew him by. Raymond went on to join the Army in 1976 where he served as a member of the U.S. National Guard and was honorably discharged. When he returned to El Centro from his time in Fort Knox, KY he married his first love Rosario "Chayo" Valenzuela. Together they had three children. Raymond was a jack of all trades, but primarily worked in the construction field as a concrete finisher. Later he became self-employed and worked for various realty companies around Houston preparing properties for sale and/or rental. Raymond loved listening to all genres of music, but he particularly loved Lowrider Oldies. He loved working out in his younger days and could at times be seen doing push-ups or pulling two chairs together and doing dips. In his later years he enjoyed watching movies, CSI, and Criminal Minds while either enjoying some type of desert, hamburger, or a coke. Most of all Moon loved his grandkids who he enjoyed spending time with especially his "Macaroni". He is preceded in death by his father Ramon Bindiola and his beloved Rosario "Chayo" Valenzuela. Raymond is survived by his mother Virginia Bindiola of El Centro, CA, his children Raymond Bindiola Jr. and wife, Evelyn of Houston, TX, Ruben Bindiola and wife, Nydia of Aberdeen, SD, and Sonia Bindiola of El Centro, CA; his grandchildren Iselia, Raymond John III, Elijah, Luis Rivera, Gianna Chayo; step grandchildren Rodrigo, Destanie, and Miguel Flores; his siblings Esmeralda Bindiola, Sandra Perez (Alfred), Mark Bindiola (Tina), Felix Bindiola, Catherine McCurley (Clifton), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Mike), and Chris Bindiola; and various nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Houston Restoration Church located 1831 Hartwick Rd. in Houston, TX 77093. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Alfred Perez officiating.
