August 10, 1961 - August 30, 2018 On the morning of Thursday, August 30, 2018 the Angels of the Lord descended to Katy, Texas, Memorial Hermann Medical Center to welcome Mrs. Rhonda Sue Graham (Pickens) into eternal rest in her new home in heaven. Rhonda (affectionately known as Sue) was born August 10, 1961, the second daughter to Columbus Pickens and Gloria Wheeler Pickens of Beaumont, Texas. Sue graduated from Hebert High School, Beaumont Independent School District, in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas. Sue then enlisted to serve her country in the United States Army and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. PV2 Pickens attended Advance Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and completed Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 71L10, Administrative Specialist. Sue had a permanent change of station and was assigned to Sinop, Turkey where she performed her Administrative Duties in the Main Operations Office on a one-year hardship tour. After completion of this tour she had a permanent change of station assignment to Fort Polk, Louisiana. Sue served honorably before being honorably discharged from the military. On August 27, 1980, Sue married SP4 Donald L. Graham in ceremony, in downtown Sinop, Turkey. The ceremony was witnessed by three of her best friends, Tony Henderson, James Coleman, and Melvin Tally. Sue chose family over her military career/service. She was blessed with her first daughter Dawn (Kamesha) in June 1981 and Shawn (Christopher) in October 1982. She knew she wanted to be a full time mother as she knew a good mother is more precious than gold. She strived daily to ensure her family and children were taken care of. Sue was a fun and loving young lady. She was well known for teaching the Texas Two Step while she was assigned to Sinop, Turkey. She had a love for music and enjoyed listening to all genres of music. Sue had a love for the music of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. Sue had a passion for travel, and was able to see the world. Visiting places such as Germany, Turkey, Paris, France, Canada. She also visited many states within the continental United States. Sue is survived by her children who will continue her legacy and will cherish all of the wonderful memories. Sue has a daughter Kamesha Dawn Baker, of Katy, Texas, one son Christopher Shawn Graham of Beaumont, Texas, three granddaughters, Najiah, Maia, Kassidy, and one grandson Blayne. She is also survived by SGM Donald L. Graham, her mother Gloria Pickens, three sisters Shelia (Willette) Samuel, Stephanie Caleb, Anquinetta (Stacey) Lee, two brothers, Ralph Pickens, and Keith (Lisa) Pickens, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
