Robert (Bob) W. Farmer, 67, of Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday October 9th, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Bob was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 29, 1950 to Walter Lee Farmer and Rosemary (Baker) Farmer. Bob graduated from Robert E Lee high school in Houston, Texas and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and the University of Houston. Bob built a successful sales career, primarily in the commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry, retiring from Mitsubishi Electric as Director of Sales for the Southwest Business Unit in December 2015 due to medical issues. Bob is survived by his wife Mary (Roach) Farmer of 31 years; daughter Jennifer E. Farmer of Houston, Texas; son Robert (Bobby) Farmer of Richmond, Texas; grandson John Mark Farmer; father Walter L. Farmer of McKinney, Texas; sisters Kathy Farmer Vicory of Cypress, Texas and Judy (Jim) Farmer Meyer of Rifle, Colorado; sisters and brothers-in-law Joanne and Richard Hodge, Rose and Bob Gregg and John and Amy Roach all of Janesville, Wisconsin; and multiple nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Farmer, and brothers-in-law Mike Roach and James Woodman. Bob led an active life, enjoying many friendships throughout the years. From the slow-pitch softball field to the golf course, he loved to engage in competitive sports activities. Bob achieved multiple accomplishments in his life but he always said his biggest accomplishment was his children. Even with his busy work schedule Bob always took time to coach his children in baseball, softball, basketball, swim and football. He made a huge impact on his children and many others he coached throughout the years. To this day people thanked him for the impact he made in their children's' lives. A memorial service in honor of Bob's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21st at Grace Community Church, 1021 Campbell Rd, Houston, Texas 77055. Reception to follow service. Location of reception will be announced at the memorial service. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
