Robert Lee Jenkins was born on January 4, 1930, to Albert Jenkins and Byrdie Cain in Austin, Texas. He passed away on August 14, 2016, in Spring, Texas, at age 86. He was one of seven boys and one girl. He grew up in Austin and was a popular football player at Austin High School. He loved riding his motorcycle and horses, and spending time with the family. He later moved to the Houston area and Spring, Texas. After a 40-year distinguished career with General Electric, Robert retired in February, 1990. He was very proud to be a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He loved his horses and spending time on his ranch in Spring, Texas. He had a sense of humor and loved to play pranks especially with the younger family members. No matter where he went, he would strike up a conversation with anyone. Bob also never met a stranger. Robert is survived by his wife of over 11 years, Sherrill Jenkins, son Robert J. Jenkins, and daughter Kay Brown. He has four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Raymond, and sister Hazel, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service is at 11:00 am on August 25, 2016 at North Oaks Baptist Church, 18411 Stuebner Airline, Spring, Texas 77379.
