Robert Kenneth Wesbrook (formerly of Springfield, IL) passed away on April 10, 2019 in The Woodlands, Texas at age 78 with his daughter Galyn by his side.
Bob died like he lived: Bravely fighting anything that stood in his way. If you said he couldn't do it, he would make sure he would. He proved many doctors wrong and amazed everyone with his strength.
He was born in Litchfield, IL to Joseph Wesbrook and Loraine Clayton Wesbrook. He had one brother, Joseph. They predeceased him. He married Linda Lou Oldenburg in 1961 on a cold snowy day in St. Louis, MO. She survives him. They settled in Springfield IL and have two daughters Cherlyn Reynolds of Bloomington, IN and Galyn (Todd) Kluckman of Montgomery, TX. He was thrilled when grandson Alex Bowman of St. Louis, MO was born. He was so proud to be a grandpa.
He loved working for IL Secretary of State in Driver's Services for 42 years. He was a member of Masonic Central Lodge #71 for many years and later worked as their secretary. Most weekends he could be found fishing on Lake Petersburg. He also enjoyed building. He built several houses in his lifetime. He was the first one to show up anytime someone needed help and always had to right tool for the job. He loved chili. Many bowls of chili.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date in Springfield IL.
