Rolando Briones Lara passed into the arms of God on December 17, 2020 in The Woodlands, Texas after prolonged illness.
Rolando was born March 2, 1953 in Tampico, Tamaulipas to parents, Lorenzo Lara Zequeda and Melida Briones Lara. He came to Houston, Texas as a young man where he met his wife of 44 years, Concepcion Lara. Rolando was a Merchant Marine for several years and traveled around the world aboard many different vessels, as he had a true love for the sea among many of his varying occupations throughout the years. Rolando was always the most outgoing person of the family, and truly lived up to a reputation of never knowing a stranger and striking up a conversation with anyone he came across. Rolando’s love for god, family, and fishing among many other things will be truly missed by those that he leaves behind.
Rolando is survived by his wife, Concepcion Lara, daughter Mirna Cortinas and her husband Anthony, and Son Rolando Lara Jr., grandchildren Ismael Lara, Gabriel, Mateo, Mirna, Nathaniel and Natalia Cortinas; Siblings; Silvia Lara Briones, Marina Londono, Nelly Vázquez, Martha Notzon.
Rolando was preceded in death by his parents Lorenzo Lara Zequeda and Melida Briones Lara, and Daughter Norma Leticia Lara and Grandson Manuel Castillo Jr.
