Ronnie was born May 22, 1943 in Houston, Texas and is survived by his sister, Melanie Stidham, his caregivers Sam and Rebecca Hurd, and numerous cousins and friends.
The most important decision Ronnie made in his life was to believe in Jesus Christ as his Saviour - he had faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone. This decision and his application of Bible Doctrine comforted and encouraged him during the many years he faced serious health problems. Ronnie endured them all with patience and a sense of humor and was a witness to many at the Veterans Hospital and others.
He had various interests in life and was especially knowledgeable in electronics, and science. Ronnie graduated from Reagan High School and then attended the University of Houston with a major in Physics.
Ronnie enlisted in the Air Force June 1967 and served four years during the Viet Nam war. He was stationed in Thailand and then Germany and was an Airborne Flight Mechanic in Southeast Asia and Europe. He left the Air Force with an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant (E5).
He was a disc jockey and program director for radio stations in Lake Jackson and Bay City, Texas. After that he received a First Class Radiotelephone license from Elkins Institute and later instructed students there in radio theory.
He also worked for Texas Instruments and Compaq where he analyzed hardware and software needs for special applications
Ronnie had a great sense of humor and enjoyed people. He developed many fun and unique card tricks that he shared with friends.
He enjoyed many kinds of music and played various instruments in his Middle School orchestra. On his piano at home he once composed a special piece of music for our mother.
Even though many may miss him, he is in Heaven now and I can't even imagine the awe and happiness he is experiencing for all eternity.
