Russell Warner Keener, Jr, 59, of Houston, Texas passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Russell was born in Houston, Texas on September 17, 1959 to Russell Warner Keener and Mary Leone Craney Keener.
Russell was a graduate of Memorial High School and attended the University of Texas. He was a member of the American Institute of Building Design and designed many homes throughout Houston and Harris County. His passion was making his home/office a sanctuary where he was happiest with his dogs, Calina and Morgan, by his side.
He is survived by his four sisters, Linda Eggleston, Kathy Eaton, Terry Zagst, Tisha Jones, his step mother, Jan Keener, step brother, Greg Lohman, step sister, Lori Dusek and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and nephew, Benjamin Zagst.
A memorial mass will be held 10:30 Friday, October 5, 2018 at St. Cecilia's Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Russell's memory to AlmostHomePetRescue.org or the charity of your choice.
