Scott Hyde

March 24, 1962 — August 18, 2016

Scott Alan Hyde passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the age of 54. He was born on March 24, 1962 in Houston, Texas to John Joe Hyde and Nancy Jane Hyde. Scott grew up in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Pasadena High School. He loved art and surfing with his friends in Galveston. After high school, Scott went on to pursue his big entrepreneurial dreams in finance, running his own securities firm at the age of 28. He married Allison Elizabeth Beck on February 14, 1989 in Galveston, Texas and bought a home with Allison in the Memorial area, where they raised their two kids, and where Scott worked in Securities Investments for 30 years. Scott was a member of the Memorial Lions Club, Lifestyles Unlimitied Realestate mentor group, and he enjoyed spending time with his kids - taking them camping & coaching their sports teams, and spending time with the family dog (there were many over the years: King, Treasure, Heather, Wendy, and Shasta). Scott had an infectious personality; he loved cracking jokes, listening to rock music and talking about politics. His inspiration in life was his Uncle Eddy Cox, who built a successful business on an eighth grade education, leading Scott to have many Entrepreneurial goals of his own. He loved the securities business and held four licenses. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Allison Hyde; children, Scott Alan Hyde II and Alexandria Elizabeth Hyde; parents John Joe Hyde and Patsy Hyde; sister Melissa Adams; Step sisters, Donna Feltz and her husband, Rick Feltz, and Mike Rucka and her husband, Robert Rucka; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Chapelwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Endress officiating. Those wishing to make memorial gifts may do so to Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay, Houston, Texas 77024.
