Shaan Tippett

August 2, 1966 — July 24, 2022

This is the story of Shaan Ann Tippett, an extraordinary woman who was deeply loved, adored, and cherished. Shaan was the best wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend, and co-worker anyone could be blessed with. Jesus called her home on July 24th, 2022, and she passed with great peace at home in Sugarland, Texas, surrounded by Dallas, David, Judy, Justin, and some dear girlfriends, following a two-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Shaan's story started in August 1966; born the first child of Pat and Judy Caradine in Tennessee and raised in Childress, Texas, with a few years living overseas and graduating from high school in Amarillo, Texas. She began her adult life's adventure in Dallas / Ft. Worth, where Shaan and David met and began their 33-year romance. They created their lifelong dreams while sailing countless nights on Lake Grapevine. Shaan and David were married in 1990 at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas.

Shaan and David were blessed to experience the Four Corners region in the big city of Farmington, New Mexico, and that is where God blessed them with His gift of their precious daughter, Dallas. From there, the family of three relocated to Sugarland, Texas. Shaan and David spent the last 28 years enjoying life together, raising their extraordinary daughter and living out the promises of Jeremiah 29:11.

Shaan dedicated her life to serving others in Sugarland in many ways; She founded the local New Territory Women's Association and helped organize and support numerous church women retreats, countless church events and prayer groups. She had a strong passion for helping others experience Jesus. She enjoyed the pleasures of a life well lived through many family gatherings, girls' trips, concerts, bunco, UM Army mission trips, parties, and Christmas cookie exchanges.

She loved her professional calling as a church bookkeeper for Parkway United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church – Missouri City. This calling fueled her passion for serving others, bringing diverse groups of people together, and sharing her optimistic spirit and her fun "Shine On" attitude.

Shaan's greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and numerous girlfriends. Her positive outlook on life and caring for others were her greatest gifts. She so loved being a mom and wife and was entirely devoted to loving Dallas and David.

Shaan's final wish was that we celebrate a life well lived, fulfilled, loved and the many blessings that Jesus provided her and every person that touched her life.

And so, the story goes on until we see Shaan again; we love you and miss you.

Shaan is survived by her husband, David Tippett, daughter Dallas Tippett Scheeler and her husband Justin Scheeler, mother Judy Caradine, stepmother Linda Caradine, father-in-law Jim Tippett, and uncle Benny Land. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Steven Tippett and sisters-in-law Shari Weade and Gloria Caradine, in addition to numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Pat Caradine, brother Patrick Caradine, and mother-in-law, Patricia Tippett.
