Shirley Tatum

Shirley Elizabeth Davis Tatum, age 86, passed away peacefully August 25, 2021.  She was born May 21, 1935 in Woodville, Texas to Harrell and Mary Davis.  She married her high school sweetheart, J.H. Tatum, October 2, 1954 who preceded her in death in 1981.

Shirley loved God and serving others to show His love.  She was a faithful member of her church.  Someone shared stamps with her when J.H. passed away and she continued that kindness to everyone she knew who lost a loved one.  She leaves a legacy of a servant’s heart.

Shirley worked for Golden Triangle Mobile Home Sales for 26 years.  She loved the people who worked there and called them her family.  It broke her heart when she had to retire in August of 2019 at age 84.

She is survived by her youngest brother Donnie Davis and wife Betty, son Steve Tatum and wife Sharon, daughter Diana Rasberry and husband Leon, daughter Mary Harrison and husband Jack, Margo Williams and her late husband Ronnie, who she also considered to be her kids; grandchildren Jeffry and Kari Lewis, Daniel Lewis, Elizabeth and Jonathan Fincher, grandchildren by choice Dale and Amber Williams, Patsy and Dean Marks, bonus grandchildren Tami Harris, Rachel Rasberry, Justin and Cayla Harrison, Brittany and Jon Rapuk;  great-grandchildren  Nathaniel and Katherine Lewis, great-grandchildren by choice Autum, Coby and Cory Williams, Madlyn Brown; bonus great-grandchildren Jake Haney, Abby Hankins, Joseph and Marissa Harris, Raegan, Elaina, and Emma Rapuk; bonus great-great grandchildren Sarina and Scarlett Hankins, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Please join us as we celebrate the legacy of our beloved mother/memaw on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Parkway Life Church, 1865 FM RD 3513 Lumberton, Texas 77657.  Visitation is 10 a.m. and the service follows at 11 a.m.  Interment will be at 1 p.m. in Davis Cemetery located at Beulah Springs.
