Stanley Harris

Stanley Taylor Harris was born on October 16, 1934 in West Monroe, Louisiana to Mark Randolph Harris and Virginia Grigg Harris. He passed from this earth on June 27, 2016 after a long and full life. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mark, Johnny and Lottie Jean. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Charlotte, his three children Caryn Kim McFalls and husband Jett, Caitlin Rebecca Moore and husband Aaron, and Justin Charles Harris, and five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and cousins, nieces and nephews. Stanley attended Louisiana Tech for a year before moving to Houston to attend the University of Houston while working for Brown & Root. He graduated with degrees in Mathematics, Mechanical Design Engineering and Fine Arts. In 1986, he devoted his attention to being a stay-at-home dad to Caitlin and Justin and to pursuing his career as an artist. His art can be found in many homes and businesses throughout the country and has inspired, moved, and comforted many. His studio was his favorite place to be. Stanley had an exploring mind and spent his life learning and discussing science, politics, art, the universe and many other topics. He was a progressive and a feminist, having been raised by a strong, independent mother. His family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. He will be missed.
