1961-2018 After a two and a half year battle with cancer, Veronica C. Montelongo died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday February 25, 2018. Veronica was born on January 1, 1961 in Monterrey, Mexico to Enrique and Julia Loredo Campos. At the age of 4 she came with her family to Houston, Texas where she was raised. Veronica was the youngest daughter and therefore a bit spoiled. She loved to be around her family and friends, and loved to dance. At Latin World Nightclub is where she met her husband of 34 years. She married Alvaro Montelongo in April of 1983 in Monterrey, Mexico. After the completion of Austin High School, she attended Houston Community College and University of Houston. Veronica worked at Houston Community College for 36 years. She was a former vice president of HCC COPA and enjoyed multiple volunteering opportunities such as running the bible store at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Veronica loved to spoil anyone around her especially her three children and husband. For the past 5 years her favorite thing to do was being a "Glamma" to her two granddaughters, Analeigha and Karabella Montelongo. Veronica is survived by her husband, Alvaro Montelongo; children, Alvaro Montelongo Jr., Adam E. Montelongo and his wife Melissa Montelongo, Anthony Montelongo and his wife Karla Cardenas; grandchildren, Analeigha Montelongo, Karabella Montelongo; sisters, Margarita Hernandez, Maria "Cona" Rodriguez, Francisca Cervantes, Maria "Coco" Sanchez; brothers, Juan Campos, Mario Campos, Amado Campos, Henry Campos, Jerry Campos, Mario Campos Jr. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00am at St. Christopher Catholic Church followed by her final resting place at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 12:30pm.
