William Steven Chaney, 69, of Houston, TX passed away on July 4, 2020 with laryngeal cancer surrounded by family.
Born November 7, 1950 in San Antonio, TX to Roselee H. Elley & William Frances Chaney.
He attended Highlands High School (class of 1968) in San Antonio, TX followed by a year at St. Phillips Jr. College.
Steve was a USAF Reserve Veteran from ‘70-'76.
He retired as a journeyman electrician from IBEW Local Union 716.
Steve was an exceptional dancer often admired at the Café Deville in Champion's Village and at The Hop Nightclub.
In 2010, he bought a travel trailer and began exploring the US beginning with the east coast. In 2012, he wandered across the SW and up the west coast with his grandson, Drew Sanderson.
Steve Chaney is survived by his daughter Karen Kay Chaney Petersen (Sabrina), granddaughter Korinne Shoemaker & grandson Drew Sanderson, his brother Ric Chaney (Mandy), sisters Debi Clark & Donna Alsbury along with nieces & nephew Bo, Roxy, Rici & Rivi as well as a host of beloved cousins.
He is predeceased by his grandparents Daniel & Elizabeth Elley & parents Roselee & Bill Chaney.
